Schmidgall & Sons Drywall has been a family owned company since 2002, when Dave Schmidgall became licensed in California. 

In June of 2018 Dave and Marji sold their home in Lakeside, CA and relocated to Yuma, Arizona. 

Dave was born in Yuma and lived part of his life with his Dad, who was relocated to Yuma from Arkansas in the 1950’s by his parents Ulyss and Thelma Schmidgall.  Ulyss & Thelma Schmidgall started Smitty Bodyshop in Yuma right after moving to Yuma. Dave has always felt the pull to move back to the desert and has always felt like Yuma was his true home. 

After moving to Yuma Dave went to work for a local contractor. While he enjoyed working for them, he missed having his own company, so in 2019 he made the decision to open Schmidgall & Sons Drywall LLC in Yuma, AZ.

At that time his wife, Marji Schmidgall went to work getting them licensed in Arizona.  In October of 2019, Marji received her contractor license in Arizona and started preparing to open the business.  Marji has been a Construction Bookkeeper & Office Manager for over 25 years, as well as working at Dave’s side to make sure their projects were completed on time and on budget in San Diego, California.

Dave has been in the drywall industry for over 30 years and he is more than a drywaller, he is a “Drywall Artist”.  He has mastered drywall, painting and stucco repairs and can match almost any texture so that you are completely satisfied with the project upon completion.  Along with his other talents, he is trained and certified in the application of American Clay, a natural earth plaster product manufactured in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  

With over 30 years’ experience we have worked with every type of customer.  We have worked for homeowners, property managers, restoration companies and General Contractors on tenant improvements, hospitals, colleges, complete homes, kitchen and bathroom remodels and more.
